1.  The monthly meeting of the ARMAF was convened at 1300 hours, 8 May 2008 by the Vice President. There were 21 voting members present constituting a quorum.

2. The following officers were absent.

              George Humphreys   President

              James Supernaw          Treasurer

3.  The minutes of the April meeting were read by the Secretary; a motion to approve was made by Mr. Carr, seconded by Mr. Cerullo, and approved by all present.

4. Old Business:

a. The Secretary reminded all of the importance of Direct Deposit with the closing of the post. Another important item is change of address. At present we have about 4 members on our mailing list using APO 09175. The APO will close in August.

b. Members were given a list of closing dates for the community. Once again people were reminded of the importance of using Mypay to keep up to date on their pay records with address and tax changes, plus allotments for the retiree.

c. Members were also reminded of our picnic on 13 August at the Grillanlage in Ober Ramstadt. As usual all are welcome, however non-members will have to pay €5.00. We also expect all attending to RSVP prior to 1 July.

d. The secretary told all present of the importance of the meeting in June. We will lay the groundwork for the final closing of the association. On this day we will vote on the disposal of the funds in the bank and plans for the future as we will not disband as a group of friends. We will finalize plans for our picnic on 13 July and how we will conduct the meeting on 9 August, being we will have a 90th birthday party on that day.

e. We had a representative from Andrews Credit Union who explained how to avoid problems when your spouse dies and you wish to continue using your account. She also informed us that the Darmstadt Branch will close on 13 June and all accounts will be moved to Wiesbaden.

f. Mr. Robert Peirce, President of the Wiesbaden Retiree Council talked about the facilities in his community and the fact that all are welcome to join their association and council. They are hoping shortly to have a fulltime RSO also. With the closing of many bases they will end up with the responsibility for the state of Hessen and areas north of it.

5. New Business:

a. The Secretary informed all of the Farewell to be given by the City of Darmstadt on 30 May, from 12:00 to 16:00 hours on Freedom Field, CFK. For non ID Card holders the Alert Gate will be open.

c. The Retiree Council closed the offices in Building 4037 on 8 May and moved to building 4028. Building 4037 will then be cleaned out in preparation of turning over. The June meeting will be held in ACS, building 4007 at 13:00 and will be the last meetings on post. In July we have our picnic and in August ACS will be closed. It was decided all future meeting of retirees will start at 1300 hours. The August, October and December meetings will be held at a restaurant on the economy.

d. After much discussion it was decided the association will close our bank account in June and turn in a final Financial Statement in July. For all practical purposes we will cease to exist as an association.

6. The Treasurer was absent; therefore, no financial report was given.

7. A motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Shuler, seconded by Mr. Giles at 1410 hours. The next meeting will be held on 12 June at 1300 in the ACS building.
